๐ฎ๐ช Ireland's Level 5 Component Specialists Since 2015
Working through a Level 5 major award and unsure whether your components are actually meeting the criteria? A Level 5 certificate is 120 credits across eight separate components, each marked on different logic, spread over an academic year in which nobody hands you a running total. Our reviewers check your learner records, skills demonstrations, projects and collections of work against the criteria sheet your assessor will use โ and show you exactly what to fix while there's still time.
Fill in details โ we reply within 10 minutes
A Level 5 year rarely goes wrong in one dramatic moment. It slips quietly โ a learner record finished the night before, an elective chosen without knowing how it's assessed, a Pass in October that nobody explains until the profile matters in June. Reviewers who work with these components every week can read a draft the way its assessor will, and can tell you in a few hours what your provider will tell you in three weeks.
A learner record is judged on evidence trails. A project is judged on method. A skills demonstration is judged on rationale. Reviewers here know which logic applies to your component before they open the file, which is why the feedback lands on what actually carries marks.
Tell us what you've already banked and we factor it in. Knowing you need a Merit rather than a Pass from the component in front of you changes the advice completely โ and nobody in your provider's structure is positioned to tell you that.
We check each citation is real, retrievable and matched to your reference list โ not simply that the punctuation is right. Broken and misattributed sources are flagged with corrected entries supplied so you can apply them yourself.
You get a professional read on where the draft currently sits and the reasoning behind it. It isn't a prediction and your assessor still marks your work โ but knowing you're two fixes from a Merit is far more useful than being told to add more detail.
We review and give feedback on your draft; you make every edit. On Level 5 that isn't only an integrity point โ placement components are built from experiences only you had, and an assessor who watched your skills demonstration will notice a write-up describing something else.
Most Level 5 learners are working alongside study. Single components start at โฌ35, and sending two or three together costs meaningfully less than separate orders โ because the pattern report across them is where the real value sits anyway.
These aren't the difficulties learners expect at enrolment. They're the ones that show up around week six, when the second component lands on top of placement and the criteria sheet starts reading like a foreign language.
The written assignment feels academic, so it gets the hours. Meanwhile the learner record โ often carrying 70% of that same component โ gets assembled in one late evening from memory. The weighting is printed on the brief and almost nobody checks it.
A grade comes back weeks later, accurate and completely unusable. By then that component is locked, and whatever habit cost you the band is already repeating in the next two drafts on your laptop.
Banded elective groups let you pick, but nobody explains that some are assessed by examination and some by portfolio, or which ones progression routes actually care about. Learners choose on timetable convenience and find out later.
Placement hours, a work experience diary, a skills demonstration and two written components land in the same few weeks. Something gets rushed, and it's usually whichever has the quietest deadline rather than the heaviest weighting.
Most Level 5 learners have a single fixable tendency โ writing in the general present tense, or describing without justifying โ that quietly costs a band in every component. Found once, it's an evening's work. Found in June, it's the whole profile.
None of them are about ability. They're about a system that marks components separately and never joins them up for you. That's the gap a review closes.
Get a Component Checked โThis is the most useful thing to understand about Level 5. The technique decides the marking logic and the weighting decides where your hours should go. Writing all six the same way is why capable learners land in the wrong band.
Often 70%
Marked on the evidence trail, not the prose. Assessors check that specific, dated, situated experiences connect back to named outcomes. Care Support 5N0758 is commonly split Learner Record 70% / Assignment 30% โ two-thirds of that component rests on how you document what you did.
30โ60%
A structured written response to a set brief, marked on whether every part of the question is answered and supported. The trap is answering the topic instead of the question โ writing all you know about infection control rather than the four things asked.
Practical
You're observed doing something, then you write up the process. Learners pass the doing and lose marks on the writing โ no rationale for the sequence, no named standard being followed, no reflection on what would change next time.
Extended
The longest single piece in most Level 5 awards. Marked on research process as much as findings โ how sources were selected, what method was used, whether the conclusion follows from the evidence. A polished project with no visible methodology sits at Pass.
Bundle
Several smaller pieces marked as one submission, common in Communications 5N0690. Learners treat each piece in isolation and lose the marks awarded for coherence, sequencing and a consistent standard across the set. Presentation of the bundle counts.
40% typical
Theory, practical or interview format depending on the component โ one common split is Assignment 60% / Examination 40%. The written components you already submitted are your best revision material, and almost nobody uses them that way.
Work-based
Nearly every major award carries a work-based component. The diary looks like the easy part and is marked strictly โ assessors want each period linked to an outcome, not forty pages narrating what happened on each shift.
Send us the code. We'll tell you which techniques are in play, roughly how they weight, and which one deserves the hours you have left.
Five steps, no account to create, no commitment until you've seen the price. Most learners go from uploading a draft to holding a criteria table inside three days.
Upload what you've written plus the brief and criteria sheet. Add your component code and any grades already banked โ both change what we look for.
You get a firm price and a turnaround time. If the component is one we can't properly cover, we say so then rather than take the order.
Your draft goes to a reviewer who knows that component and how its assessment techniques are weighted โ not a general academic proofreader.
Each outcome is marked met, partly met or not evidenced with paragraph references. Every citation is traced, and an indicative band is set out with reasoning.
You receive a prioritised fix list and make the changes yourself. Follow-up questions are free โ plenty of learners come back with one query and nothing more.
Level 5 is assessed against QQI component specifications, and the people who read your draft need to have worked inside that system rather than around it. Our Level 5 reviewers come from further education teaching, sector practice, or both โ and each is assigned only to component areas they genuinely know.
"Ninety per cent of care learner records fail on the same thing โ no date, no setting, no name. Fix that and the band moves."
"An observation without an Aistear or Sรญolta link is just a nice story about a child. The framework connection is the mark."
"Business projects lose marks in the method section, never the findings. Show how you chose your sources and the grade follows."
"Work experience diaries are marked on outcomes, not on hours. Forty pages of shifts can evidence less than four well-chosen weeks."
A snapshot of our Level 5 caseload. It's worth reading for one reason โ the pattern tells you when in the year most learners realise they need a second opinion, and it's later than it should be.
Most learners get through the entire year without anyone explaining the architecture. Two minutes here will tell you more about your award than the enrolment pack did.
Most components carry 15 credits, so eight complete a major award. Some programmes include a smaller component or allow limited Level 4 or Level 6 credits.
Fixed by your award code. 5M2468 requires 5N1610; 5M4339 requires 5N2770, 5N0758 and 5N1794. These carry the award's identity.
"A minimum credit value of 15 from the following" โ this is where two learners on the same award end up with very different workloads.
Work Experience 5N1356 or Work Practice 5N1433 sits in nearly every award. ELC routes now require substantial Tusla-registered placement hours.
QQI updates component specifications periodically and ETBs roll them out on set dates. Working from last year's notes is a genuine risk.
Each component grades independently. A Distinction in one won't lift a Pass in another โ which is why the profile, not an overall mark, is what gets read.
Your certificate is issued against a 5M code, and that code fixes your mandatory components. If you know yours, say it when you order โ four characters tell us more than a paragraph of description.
The most requested award on our desk by a distance. Mandatory components are fixed; electives depend on the setting you're placed in, so two learners on the same award can face very different workloads.
Heavy on applied, workplace-anchored tasks. The banded electives here are unusually broad, which is why choosing them badly is such a common and avoidable mistake.
The Early Learning and Care route now requires substantial professional practice hours in a Tusla-registered setting โ far more observation evidence to write up than older ECCE cohorts faced.
Often confused with Healthcare Support, but built for learners already working inside a health service in support roles. The elective range runs into genuinely specialised territory.
Social care and community awards lean on Irish policy and service structures. Generic international theory reads as padding to an assessor who works in the sector.
Not everyone is doing a full major award. Plenty of learners take one component as a standalone minor award for a job requirement, and those get the same review treatment.
These aren't upsells held back for a premium tier. They arrive with every component review, because a report without them isn't much use to a learner on a deadline.

One 5M4339 learner, three components sent together, and what changed once the same weakness was spotted running through all of them.
J.C. had already banked a Pass in her first component and it had knocked her confidence. With Care Support 5N0758, Work Experience 5N1356 and Safety and Health at Work 5N1794 all due inside five weeks, she sent all three drafts at once โ mainly because she genuinely couldn't tell which was weakest.
The same fault ran through all three. She wrote in the general present tense โ "residents are assisted with mobility" โ where every criterion wanted a specific, dated, situated instance. Her practice was strong; her evidence was generic. On a learner record carrying most of a component's marks, that difference is the whole grade. Two of eleven sources were also untraceable.
She rewrote all three herself over two weekends using the same fix. Merit, Merit and Distinction โ and she applied the pattern to her remaining components unprompted. โ
Two Merits and a Distinction. Her remaining four components were written using the same approach without further review.
Learners ask this constantly before ordering โ what do I actually receive? These are anonymised snapshots of the finding, the fix and the result on three different assessment techniques.
What the criteria table showed:Six outcomes met, one partly met, two not evidenced at all โ both buried under a heading the learner assumed covered them.
The fix supplied:Paragraph references for where each missing outcome should sit, plus one rewritten entry as a worked example of the required specificity.
Indicative band:Moved from low Pass to solid Merit after the learner added two entries.
What the review found:Genuinely good analysis of a workplace process, with no account anywhere of how sources were chosen or data gathered.
The fix supplied:A methodology structure to complete, three untraceable citations flagged, and corrected Harvard entries for the sources that did check out.
Indicative band:Pass to Merit on method alone, before any change to the findings.
Feedback from learners who used us during their Level 5 year rather than at the very end. Names shortened at their request โ more on our reviews page.
"Nobody had explained that my learner record was worth more than the assignment. I'd been putting all my hours into the wrong half of the component. That one sentence in the report changed how I did the rest of the year."
"I sent my first component in October, which felt early at the time. Best decision I made โ the same problem would have been in all eight if I'd waited. I fixed a habit instead of fixing one assignment."
"Needed distinctions for a linked degree route and had no idea whether I was anywhere near one. The indicative band came back at high Merit with three specific things holding it there. Two of them took an evening."
"My skills demonstration write-up was completely flat and I couldn't see why. Turned out I'd described every step and justified none of them. Obvious once someone pointed straight at it."
"Doing Business Admin part-time while working full-time. Sent three components together in the January crush and got them ranked by which was closest to dropping a band. Told me exactly where my two free evenings should go."
"My work experience diary was 40 pages of what I did each day, and apparently that was the problem โ no outcomes named anywhere. Cut it right back, linked each week to an outcome, went from borderline to Merit."
Because Level 5 runs across eight components, most learners don't buy one review. They buy two or three at the pressure points, and bundles are priced accordingly rather than as repeat single orders.

Level 5 is delivered a dozen different ways across the country. The criteria sheet is what we work from, so the provider and the county make no difference to the review.
The largest concentration of PLC colleges in the country, and the widest spread of award codes. Healthcare Support and Business Administration components dominate what reaches us from here. QQI assignment help Dublin โ
Strong ETB delivery across care and early years. Learners here often send work experience and placement-based components, where the evidence exists but the write-up hasn't caught up with it.
A high proportion of blended and online Level 5 programmes, which means more self-directed learners and fewer chances to ask a tutor a quick question between classes.
Business, IT and healthcare components in roughly equal measure. Learners here tend to send projects, where the methodology section is almost always the thing holding the band down.
Smaller centres, often with one Level 5 cohort per year and limited tutor availability outside class time. This is where a second reading tends to matter most, and where learners contact us earliest.
ETBs, PLC colleges, private and online providers all assess against the same QQI component specifications. Send us the criteria sheet and the rest is detail.
